Nephew #9, and Merry Christmas

My big brother Colby and his wife Marsha had their 5th baby on Monday. Alexander James Gull is my 9th nephew. He is very cute and I can hardly wait to meet him. Congratulations Marsha and Colby!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. I know we did. Jercie told me that Santa brought her everything she asked for. Good job Santa!!! We did Christmas Eve dinner at my mom's house. We had ham and potatoes and veggies. It was super good. On Christmas morning I woke up at 4:30 thinking that soon a little girl would come in to wake me up. Nobody showed so I went back to sleep. Kaia woke up at about 7 so I got up with her. I called my mom to let her know I was going to be waking the kids up soon. As I was talking to her Jercie came in the kitchen. She just kind of looked at me. I said "Merry Christmas!" It was then that her face lit up and she ran into the living room. I told her she had to wait til I got Blaze and Daddy up. I went in and woke Blaze up. He takes after me and is not a morning person so he was a little mad, until I said "Santa came!" He sat up and said " AWSOME!!" I went and got Mike up. I tried to start some coffee for him but couldn't get the coffee maker to work. So I asked my mom to bring some up for him. When he got up he tried as well. Soon the smell of coffee was coming from the kitchen. Mike came in the living room and said Tonia you had the crock pot plugged in. OOPS!!! I was tired. Anyway the kids had fun and I let them eat all the candy they wanted all day. Jercie got a scooter and Blaze got a train. They love them. Jercie rides the scooter all over the place. Kaia just wanted to suck on the wrapping paper! I made prime rib for dinner and it was sooooo good. I was a little worried that it wouldn't be good and we had to nuke it a little but it was good. My mom told me that she hadn't had better in any restaurant. That made me feel good. Well here are some pictures.

8 Crazy Years

Mike and I have known each other for a long time. He was my bother's best friend. He was known as Mikey back then. He was a part of our family. I was also friends with his sister Angela. I was either at his house or he was at mine. I have always had a crush on him. I probably wouldn't have admitted it then. But proudly confess now.
The summer before I turned 12 his family moved to Alamo. I remember being very sad because Ang wouldn't be able to come with me to our first year of girl's camp. Mike kept in touch with the family whenever he wasn't in trouble!!
My senior year in high school I was playing designated driver for a friend when I ran into Mike at the party. He had his tongue pierced then.I told him I had always wanted to kiss someone with a tongue ring. That was our first kiss. That's right I moved first. The next time I saw him was at another party, of course. He told me that night that he would marry me. I just laughed it off, but deep down I knew that I was going to marry him. Fast forward to a year and a half later, End of October 2000 to be exact. Out of nowhere Mike calls my parents house. I answered the phone. Here's how the conversation went:
Mike: Shanny!!
Me: No it's Tonia
Mike: Even better. Hey meet me at the Wendy's in Richfield.
Me: Alright, give me a minute.
So I pulled my self together and away I went to Wendy's. He had 4 of his closest friends with him. Russ, Dillon, Matt, and Rock. Mike kicked Dillon out of the front seat so I could sit there. I don't think he ever forgave me for that one. Anyway, we went for a drive up on Monroe Mountain. After we hung out at his hotel room where they decided to have a party. Mike and I escaped out to the truck. We ended up talking all night. I didn't know when I would see him again, but he told me he would call. Sure enough he called me when he got to Vegas. We started dating. Since he was living in Vegas and I here in Joseph we could only see eachother every weekend. We talked on the phone every night. He always talked about getting married, so one day I asked when this blessed event was going to happen. He said," What's the second weekend in December?" I said the 16th. And that was pretty much that.
I went to his parent's house for Thanksgiving where he officiallay proposed. He took me for a ride to the "airport". He got out and handed me a box. In the box was a little teddy bear. On the bear's tummy was a zipper, inside the zipper was a little pouch and inside that was a ring. He took the ring from me, got down and one knee and asked me to marry him. I of course said yes.
On December 16, 2000 we were married in the Joseph Town Hall. It was one of the best days of my life. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to get sealed for time and all eternity.

Edward Who??

I finally got to see Twilight last night. It was so good. My biggest complaint was Edward, not as hot as I thought he should have been. However Jasper was super HOT!! It made the whole Edward thing ok. At least I had somebody to drool over. lol. I think Stephenie Meyer should write a book about Jasper and Alice and make a movie about them so I can see more of him. There were other things I didn't like but I'm sure the more I see it those things will fade.

12 Days of Christmas A.R.K. Version
This year I am going to do the 12 days of Christmas. I'm doing it a little differently however. I am doing Acts of Random Kindness (A.R.K.). Starting today I am going to do different things for my kids everyday until Christmas. We are going to make cookies one day, have a pajama day, pick what mom wears day, and other silly things. On the last day I am going to give them the opportunity to DO a random act of kindness for one of the neighbors. I thought this would help them understand what the Christmas Spirit is. Next year I will give them the reins and they will do acts of kindness for each other. When they get older we will do it for the neighborhood.

Confessions...

I confess:
I am a hopeless romantic and write my husband love letters. He laughs at me.
I am a terrible housekeeper. I figure why clean it if it's just going to be messy again in 2 minutes?
I don't get to shower every day despite my best intentions.
I love getting mail.
I love to get comments on this blog. If you read it and don't leave a comment, start. Even if you don't know me!!
I want to write children's books but don't have the confidence to start one.
I LOVE candy!
I HATE mornings. Although Mike has helped me like them a little more, when he's home he usually is singing an original song when he gets up.
I would wear my pajamas all day long if I knew Mike wouldn't give me crap about it.
I am secretly starting to fall in love with the ugly tree. lol.
I would also like to be a photographer one day.
I think I'm funnier than other people think I am.

You can dress it up...

but it's still ugly. I don't think there is any saving this poor pitiful tree. Now do you all see why I got it all decorated last year and just sat and stared at it and cried. Granted I was pregnant, but still.

Awards

The award for Ugliest Tree goes to....This ugly sucker. (I don't know why that's underlined.)

The award for best big brother goes to...Blaze Jorgensen. (again I don't know what is going on with the underlining and blue text???)
This morning he laid down next to Kaia and was playing with her. I looked down and she had a hold of his ear. I tried to get a pic but wasn't quick enough with the camera. He gently took her hand away. She started fussing and when I came back in the room this is what I saw. He is always so gentle and sweet with her.
That is it for my awards.
Kaia finally got her first tooth through. She still has another one coming in though. Hopefully it won't be as rough as the first one was. She is growing up way too fast on me. I can't believe it. I know I say that every post but it kind of makes me sad.
Jercie and Blaze are doing fantastic. Jercie knows all of her alphabet letters. (She recognizes them) and she knows most of the letter sounds. She is a very smart girl. She just got a new teacher on Monday. Her name is Michelle Elmer. I went to high school with her. Well now Jercie has changed her name to Michelle. She told me today that at school she is Jercie and at home she is Michelle. What a funny kid.
We are going to St. George on friday to get the rear pinion seal fixed on the truck. Shantel is going to watch Jercie and Blaze so we can get some christmas shopping done. We haven't even started yet. I'm a terrible procrastinator. Mike also offered to take me to Twilight. Hopefully he follows through.
Mike had to have a root canal this morning before he went to work. It was hurting him pretty bad when I talked to him. Hopefully the pain meds they gave him will help. He is going to get braces after the first of the year. He is pretty excited about it.
On Sunday night I decided Kola, my stinky dog, needed a bath. She was unusually smelly, so I threw her in the sink and washed her down. I was brushing her out and she still smelled a little funky. I got to her face and noticed something sticking out of her eye. Upon closer examination I discovered a foxtail in her EYE. What the... So I pulled it out. It must have been what stuck because she smells much better now!!
That's about all for now.

Wanna See What I Can Do?

Kaia is sitting up now. She just started last night. I can't believe how fast she is growing. I still put pillows around her because occasionally she can't catch herself before she falls. She is also getting 2 teeth on the bottom. She deals with it pretty well, but gets kinda fussy at times. She got to have some oatmeal the other day and prefers that to the rice. Who can blame her really? I think I am going to start sweet potatoes around Thanksgiving. I thought it was appropriate. Haha. She is funny. I wish I could better describe her personality. She is very ticklish. Instead of laughing though she just screams. It's hilarious and very noisy!!!

We celebrated Jercie's birthday on Saturday. We just had Aunt Telly and her 4 kids, and of course Grammy and Papa Clint over for cake and ice cream. Then 3 of Shantel's kids stayed for a sleep over. I think the kids had fun. They were all really good. I didn't have to referee any fights or anything. I put in Iron Man and they crashed on my living room floor. The last kid finally fell asleep around midnight. The first kid awake was Jercie. At about 7:00 the next morning she came in wanting breakfast. I made them waffles. Frozen. I'm good, but not that good. lol. I sent the other kids up to grammy's while I got my family ready for church. We only went to Sacrament because Mike had just got home from graveyard and was tired.
We are heading to Alamo for Thanksgiving. We are leaving Wednesday afternoon after my nail appointment. I love Thanksgiving. It's probably my favorite holiday.

That is all I can think of for now. Buh-bye.

Jerciebob Fakerpants...

Jercie celebrated her 6th birthday on Tuesday. She got a digital camera and two games for her DS Barbie Fashion Show and Toy Shop. She has been playing the Barbie one as often as she can. Well yesterday she was getting ready for school and asked if she could play before we went to the bus. I told her she could if we had time. Well we didn't have time. On the way to the stop she told me her tummy hurt. I asked if she was going to throw up. She said no. I told her she was probably hungry and once she ate breakfast she would be fine. So she got on the bus and went to school. At about 8:30 I get a call from the elementary saying Jercie was sick and needed to come home. I went and picked her up. I was feeling like a big jerk. I went to her class. Her teacher told me she wouldn't eat breakfast. I loaded her up in the truck and on the way down Joe Town Hill I looked back and she wasn't acting very sick to me. So I said," Jercie, tell me the truth, I promise I won't get mad. Are you really sick?" " You promise not to get mad?" " I promise." "Will you make me go back to school?" No I won't make you go back to school." "No I'm not really sick."

She just wanted to stay home and play the Barbie game on her DS. I let her but she had to do whatever Blaze wanted her to do. She also wasn't allowed to leave the couch until 11:00 and she had to eat toast and chicken noodle soup.

There's a salon in Joseph!!! I can't believe it. I went and got my hair cut and colored there yesterday. It is just across the street. NICE! Here are some pics. I look kinda stoned in the one front view. I guess that's what happens when you are up all night coughing. Oh well. Let me know what you think.

this picture doesn't do the hair justice.

Rear View

We also finger painted the other day. Even Kaia got in on the action. She had lots of fun. Here are some pictures. The older kids decided to paint their arms as far up as they could. Little turds.

ENJOY!!

Happy Birthday!

(That is a normal sized stocking!)

Jercie Sean Jorgensen
11/18/2002
5 lbs. 3 oz. 17 3/4 in

I decided to copy Andrea's post for my kids' birthdays. I am doing this today because I may not have time tomorrow. Here goes...

Mike and I had been married for just over a year when we decided it was time to start our family. It took about a week for me to get pregnant. I kept getting negative results though. My mom still makes fun of me. "It's not the tests that get you pregnant." Haha mom. I knew I was pregnant so I kept taking tests. When I finally got the positive result the second pink line was so faint Mike thought I was crazy.

I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy. I lost a few pounds in the beginning and had to eat 2 breakfasts to put on weight. My Dr. left Nevada when I was about 20 weeks. I didn't like my new Doc but didn't want to start again so late in the pregnancy.

I had an ultrasound at 35 weeks. The doctor came in and said the baby wasn't gaining much weight and wanted to do another ultrasound in 2 weeks just to make sure she was still growing. So I went back at 37 weeks. She had only gained a few ounces in two weeks. I was sent home on bedrest. This was on Friday afternoon. I was told to go to the hospital Sunday night. Gary and Tallon came over and gave me a blessing Sunday before we went to the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital and they started the IV and all that fun stuff. They gave me a sleeping pill so I would be rested for the next day when they induced me.

The next morning they started the Pitocin at 9:00. I went from no contractions whatsoever to full on, every minute, no time to catch your breath labor immediately. The nurse came in to check me at about 11:00 and told me that the anethesiologist was on his way to a c-section and asked if I wanted the epidural now or if I wanted to wait. I got my epidural at 11:30. HEAVEN !! I give kudos to those of you that give birth drug free.

We watched The Patriot while we awaited the birth of our oldest child. At about 2:00 I was feeling lots of pressure so I called the nurse and told her the baby was on its way out. She told me it wasn't and I was just feeling pressure from the contractions. I told her to check and she would feel the baby's head. Sure enough Jercie head was right there. They called the Doc and I started pushing. I think I only pushed 3 or 4 times. They had to use the vaccuum extractor because she was having heart decelerations (it had dropped to 59 bpm at one point) and we needed to get her out ASAP.

At 2:45 p.m. my sweet baby Jercie was brought into this crazy world. She was absolutely perfect. Later that night when was in the postpartem room she started getting really ashy. I called the nurse in and they rushed her back to the nursery. They had to give her oxygen. After awhile they brought her back to me.

Jercie has been such a wonderful kid. Whenever I needed smile I can always count on her to give me one. She is a very silly, loving, sweet girl. How can you not laugh with this kid?

She is an awesome big sister. She loves without limits.

(can you find her?)

We love you Sissy!!

The blog of many titles... Meet Fluffy...Family Pictures...Prayer Requests!

For Jercie's home work this week she brought home a turkey for us to disguise so he won't get caught and eaten for Thanksgiving Dinner. She decided she wanted to disguise him as a kitty, Fluffy. I think we did a pretty good job don't you??

I got our family picture proofs back today. I had a really hard time deciding what ones I wanted so it's going to cost me a pretty penny. (Don't tell Mike. lol) Here are just a few of them. Like I said before Kaia wasn't in the smiling mood I guess, because there just aren't that many of her with a grin. Oh well she's still cute. I forgot to bring up Jercie's school pictures but will post them another day.

As for the prayer request. Most of you that read this are already praying. As for the rest of you...Mike's dad Gary is having a procedure done on his heart this morning. To read more about it visit my SIL's blog http://aaronandangelahagfeldt.blogspot.com/. We are all very nervous and could really use the power of all your prayers. Thanks!!

Snuggles

What's better than snuggling? Not much! I decided I would spend a little time snuggling with Kaia Papaya today before she is too old to want to snuggle. Jercie and Blaze don't want to snuggle very often so I have to take advantage of my youngest child. It was so nice. She loves to snuggle too. I got a little giggle out of her today. It won't be long until I get full on "belly laughs". I can't wait. That's all....

Back in the Day...

Me at the tender age of 19

I lived in Cedar City with two lovely girls, Natalie and Jana.

I worked at a special place called Convergys. I met some really "interesting" people. My boss was Nate Scholes. He was awesome! Damon and Ian were alway good for a laugh. And of course Chaundra became one of my best friends. Jana and Natalie used to call us Poncho and Lefty. (Because I'm left handed.)

Let me explain the pictures. The first is my boss Nate. He dressed up as Super Nate for Halloween. Damon(the second pic) is doing his Genie in a Bottle dance. He also did a mean Velocoraptor ( I can't spell) Ian is putting quarters up his nose. And Chaundra was shuffling cards to play War. It's how we got through the tortures of telemarketing!
So there is a little trip down memory lane for all of you. I hope you enjoyed a peek into my past!

Finally Halloween Pictures.

Jercie played the girl card and couldn't decide what she wanted to be for Halloween so she was a Vampire Witch. Blaze was Iron Man and made sure everybody we saw knew it. Kaia was Marie from the Disney Movie The Aristocats. I have decided that next year we are doing some original costumes. No more store bought costumes for us!!! The kids all dressed up!

Jercie and Blaze with the finished product
Scooping out the guts!

Getting his hands dirty!

I was gonna put a video of the kids wrestling but it won't let me this time. I will try another day I guess.

A Spooktacular Halloween!

Our Halloween was super busy and I'm so glad it comes but once a year! I started off the day getting Jercie ready for the Halloween Parade at the school. Once she was on the bus I had to get Blaze and Kaia in their costumes wake Mike up and get myself ready to go. We went and watched the parade and stopped by Grammy's work to trick or treat her and the lunchladies. They were playing Thriller over the intercome and Blaze entertained us with a dance. It was hillarious. I was laughing so hard. We went home and rested for a little while. Well tried to rest. Blaze and Jercie were wrestling in the living room it was pretty funny.
After that we got in costume again and went over to walmart to trick or treat around the store. The kids had fun, but Mike told me he couldn't believe how redneck we were for going to Walmart to trick or treat. I thought it was funny. We then carved our pumkins and set them on the porch. I cleaned the kitchen back up and made dinner. We had BLT's and got into costume one last time. We headed to the park for the trunk or treat. They made a killing! There were tons of people there. Next year I'm decorating my truck. We hit a couple houses afterward and then went over to Aunt Tellie's house to trick or treat her. Blaze crashed from the sugar high on the way home. Once home he woke up enough to have a bath and go to bed. They were all asleep by 9:30! I was exhausted!! Glad it's over!! Once I figure out what's going on with my pictures I will post them!!
This morning we went to Monrovian Park to have family pictures taken. I can't wait to get them back. We found a cool little spot that had some red leaves all over the ground and some in the trees. We should have the proofs in about a week and I will post some then. The kids were so good. We had only one teeny tiny fit but it was quickly fixed. Other than that there were no tears or fights. We got done in about a half hour. I think that's a record for getting pictures with 3 kids. Kaia was really good but we had a hard time coaxing a smile out of her. We got a couple though. At least she wasn't crying.

My mom tells me I'm special...

Okay so ignore my last 2 posts. Mobile blogging sucks!!! I was just venting about bottle lids anyway lol!

I am so excited though. I have found two friends through the miracle of technology. I found my old roomie Natalie. We used to have tonz of fun in the blue du! I was reminising the other day and I remembered our other roommate Courtney doing the thriller dance. It was hillarious. Anyway. I also found my bestest friend in the whole world's blog Shallon. We are terrible at keeping in touch though. I saw her the day I had Kaia. She stopped in to say Hi before I left for my doctor appointment.

So our pumpkin carving didn't go so well. The pumpkins we got were kind of bad and they just fell apart. I have to go get new ones tonight so the kids can carve them. They were kind of sad that they didn't get to.

I am finally getting a Jorgensen niece. I have the only girls and can't wait to have a niece to dote on. Yay! Congrats Jason and Leslie. I went through the clothes Kaia has grown out of last night and was amazed at how much she has grown. She was such a tiny little thing and now she is a
monster!
That is all for now I think. I will post more after Halloween!

The Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we took the kids over to Elsinore to the pumpkin patch. They had so much fun picking their own pumpkins, riding the train, and the hay wagon. Mike told the story of when he got ran over by a hay wagon and I of course laughed as I do everytime the story is mentioned. I know I'm not very nice but it's funny now. Mostly because I heard the story the first time from a traumatized Colby. He came running in the house near tears, "Mikey got ran over by the hay wagon!!" As I type this tears are rolling down my face.

Anyway back to the ranch... After the pumpkin patch we went home and had ice cream cones and played tag with the kids on the front lawn. Jercie had spent the night at Grammy's and was super ornery that night.

On Sunday we went to church. It was the Primary Program. Jercie had her part all memorized and then refused to get up and say it. I was kind of sad cuz we worked so hard on it. Oh well. Kaia had all the Relief Society ladies in love with her. Who wouldn't be?! Blaze actually likes to go to nursery now. He goes right in and starts playing. He doesn't really play with the other kids. He's likes to play alone. My home teachers stopped by last night and talked to my kids. Bob taught them about rules and used magnets to teach the lesson. It was nice. He also brought over some tomatoes and a butternut squash. YUM!!! Any tips on how to cook the squash are welcome!!

Upcoming events include: pumpkin carving tonight. The halloween parade at the school on Friday morning. Trick or Treating Friday night. Family pictures on Saturday. If the clothes Andrea bought for Kaia are here by then she will wear one of the outfits for pictures. I am so excited to get the pictures done. We are going up to Monrovian. Hopefully the trees won't be too bare.

That is all I can think of for now. I will post pics of everything as soon as I can.

Kaia Hanlee Jorgensen

We went to Kaia's 4 month well check yesterday. She is 13 lbs 6 oz. 23 3/4 inches long. She is very healthy. Her head is a little small but it's growing so the doctor isn't too worried about it. She was so good on the way down and back. The doctor gave us the go ahead to start her on rice cereal. She wan't too thrilled about it.
The doctor was talking to her and trying to get her to smile, Kaia wanted nothing to do with her and just looked at her with a bored expression. So the dr. started talking to me and lo and behold Kaia decides to talk and smile at her. She does that to me too. I will be talking to her and getting big smiles and as soon as I bust out the camera she stops. That's why we don't have many smiling pictures of her. She wakes up laughing in the morning just like her sister used to do. Maybe it's the butterflies.
That's a pretty random post but you all get the picture.

Here's what's new!

Okay so alot has happened since I last updated this thing. My mom got DSL hooked up today and so far I love it. Once our computer is fixed I will be doing the same thing. I celebrated my 28th birthday with the flu. It wasn't the best birthday ever but what do you do. Mike got me a WII so I had something to do while I was miserable. It's so much fun. The kids love it too. Luckily Mike and I are the only ones that ended up sick which is a miracle. Jercie taught herself to ride a bike without training wheels. She came in the saturday after my birthday and told Mike she wanted the training wheels off. He took them off and by the end of the night she was riding like a pro. Blaze got on his Big Wheel the other day and told Mike it was a "hot sum bitch" I laughed so hard. I swear I don't know where he comes up with the things he says. We had dinner at my parent's house the other night here is the conversation between grammy and Blaze
Grammy: " Do you love your baby sister?"
Blaze: "Yeah."
G: "Can I keep her?"
B: "No, then I wouldn't have a baby sister."
G: " What if I gave you a baby brother then could I have her?"
B: No I want you to have a baby brother."
G: " I had a baby brother once but I gave him away to Marshi"
B: " What Martian was it?"
Marsha is my brother's wife for those of you wondering what a Marshi is. Too Funny.
I got my hair cut a few weeks ago. I'm still not sure if I like it. What do you all think? It's not the best picture but what do you expect from a self portrait? You do however get the added benefit of Kaia. Speaking of Kaia, we have her 4 month appointment on Friday. I will post the stats from that shortly after. She is getting nice and chubby. I guess she has always been a bit on the chunky side so I guess she is just maintaining. She has rolled over a couple times. The first time happened while my back was turned but I have witnessed it since. I almost cried because I just am not ready for her to grow up. Here are a few more pictures for you all to enjoy.
