Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!!

We decided we needed to do one last fun thing before school started. It was between camping and the zoo. The zoo ultimately won out over camping. Who wouldn't choose the zoo? We were going to leave around 10 Wednesday morning, but Blaze's belly had other plans for us. He wasn't feeling too hot. We talked about seeing how he felt that afternoon and going and staying overnight and doing the zoo early. We decided to leave early the next morning and get there as the zoo was opening. Okay so that was Mike's idea and I have to admit it was a good one. He has those occasionally.
Thursday morning we got up at the butt crack of dawn and headed to Salt Lake. Kaia and Blaze slept almost the whole way there. Jercie was her usual chatty self.
We got to the zoo about 10 minutes before it opened. I had purchased our tickets online the night before so we didn't have to go to the ticket booth. We were the first people through the gate. Some of the animals weren't awake yet, but we eventually got to see most of them.

And that was our trip to the zoo. We were home by 5 and Mike had time to take a nap before he had to go to work. It was a perfect end to our summer.

I think it's safe to announce...

Kaia is potty trained! You thought I was going to announce something different huh.
Last week we were at my mom's house. I just took Kaia's diaper off and didn't put a clean one on because I didn't have one with me. She went out with Papa Clint to feed the animals when they came in Dad said Kaia said she needed to pee. So I put her on the potty and she went. Since then we have only had a handful of accidents. She even made it the whole trip up to the zoo and home without having an accident. Every once in a while she wakes up wet but she's doing really good at night.

It makes me sad that Kaia has left all the baby stuff behind. She won't even let us put lids on the sippy cups anymore. She's officially a big girl now!

I'm a little bit behind...

So a whole lot has happened since I last blogged. We celebrated the 4th of July and Mike's birthday, we went down to Panguitch Lake and hung out with Russ and Emily. Jercie had her oral surgery. We went camping with Gary and Annette, Angela, and Jason and Leslie. It was tons of fun. We also put our little boat in the water and took the kids for a putter around Forsyth. The girls both got haircuts. We took a ride up on Monroe Mountain and shot guns and hung out with some good friends. And yesterday we went to the zoo, I will do the zoo trip in a post all by its self though.  I am just going to post pictures and let you figure out what goes where.
