The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly...

The Good:
Blaze, Kaia, Shantel, her kids, my mom and I all went to the Town Christmas party on Wednesday night. Thursday we hung out at home until about 3:30 and then went over to my mom's for dinner. It was so good! After dinner we opened presents and came home. Me and Jercie made some reindeer food and put it on the lawn for them. Then we came inside and had some hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows and watched A Christmas Story. While watching the movie the kids opened their Christmas P.J's. Then it was bedtime. So we set out the traditional cheese ball and crackers and a Pepsi for Santa and the kids went to bed. They were asleep by 8:15 so Santa had left our house by 10:30. (He waited a while to make sure they were asleep.) Christmas morning had arrived FINALLY! Jercie woke us up at about 6:30 and I had to wake Blaze up. Of course they got everything they wanted. That sneaky Santa hid Jercie's ipod in the tree and I was so proud of her when she had opened all of her presents and didn't once complain that Santa forgot it. She did find it and loved it. Blaze got a Bat Cave and when he opened it up he said "What the..." it was awesome! I thought Kaia would have been more into it this year but she made me and Jercie open all her presents. Once they were opened she was pretty stoked about them. I made crepes for breakfast and Mike cooked Prime Rib for dinner. I think I like that new tradition.

The Bad:
On Wednesday afternoon Jercie told me her belly hurt. At about 4:30 she started puking. I told her she couldn't go to the town Christmas party. She was so sad and tried so hard not to get sick, unfortunately it didn't work. Luckily she was only sick until about 11:30 that night. After dinner on Christmas Eve Blaze was so cranky and mouthy he didn't get to feed the reindeer. Then while Santa was stuffing stockings I heard a gag and a cough and a cry from Blaze's room. Mike went in to check on him and came and told me to go take care of him. He had started puking. So I got him a puke bucket and he went back to sleep. He was only sick for a couple hours too so by Christmas morning he was better. We went all day Christmas without any puking kids. Then on Saturday I tried to feed Kaia some cereal and she wouldn't eat. She drank some milk. She was kind of cranky and just wanted to be held. I put her down for a second and she started puking. All over the couch the floor and me. Aw the joys of parenting. She was fine by about 4:30. That was the end of the sick...or so I thought.

The Ugly:
On Saturday at around 2:30 Mike called from work and told me he wasn't feeling well. He still had 4 1/2 hours left on his shift but he was going to stick it out. At 4:30 I got a call from Brandon telling me  I need to go pick Mike up. Brandon was going to try to find somebody to bring him to Salina. No such luck on the ride so I had to go all the way up to the mine. When I got to Sigurd I called my dad to find out the exit I needed to take to get there and he told me he would go get Mike because he didn't want me driving the mine road. I started crying because I was stressed out and knew I needed to get Mike down off the hill. But Dad insisted so I turned around and headed home. At 6 I got another call from Brandon asking where my dad was. I told him I had passed him in Richfield at 5:30. Brandon said he was going to start bringing Mike down and he was going to the hospital. My dad got Mike just off the freeway and I met them at the hospital. Mike was in a lot of pain and was really sick to his stomach. They gave him demoral and some zofran. The demoral didn't help his pain so they gave him some more. Nothing. Finally they gave him some deladin and that finally helped him. They did a CT of his abdomen and found a hiatal hernia. The doctor didn't think that was causing the problem though, but didn't offer any other ideas.  So they sent Mike home with some phenegren for the nausea and orders to rest and drink lots of fluid. Mike is pretty sure it was food poisoning from a breakfast burrito he ate at the Flying J. I agree with him. He is feeling a lot better now and vows to never eat truck stop food again!

It's possible...

That I have completely lost it. Remember how I said I was on top of things this year. Well, I spoke too soon. I just barely got my Christmas cards in the mail this morning. I still have a couple gifts left to buy, mostly stocking stuffers though. And I can't remember anything.

Our ward does an angel tree every year. We took three things off the tree and got them. Well, I was wrapping them when I noticed that the little girl's outfit was the wrong size. So yesterday I went to exchange it. I took the kids to my mom's so I wouldn't have to drag them along with me. I got to her house and realized that I had forgot to grab the outfit to take back. I stopped back home and grabbed the outfit. Drove to Richfield, got Kaia out of the truck and went into Walmart. As I walked through the doors I realized I didn't have my return. I didn't want to go all the way back to the truck so I just got the right size and I'll return the other one later. Then I was going to get the stuff for the kids' teacher gifts because Blaze only has school on Tuesday. I forgot to get that as well. I also needed some hair stuff to do my hair. I got it cut you see and I have to do it a certain way or it just looks ridiculous. Forgot that too. I've been wearing Kaia's kufi caps and it actually looks okay.

I did however remember something about Blaze yesterday that made me smile. When he was about 18 months my sister would watch the kids while I was at work. She would have to sing the Spongebob song to get him to take a nap. It's no wonder that kid has the song memorized and has to watch it every day.

911? I'm grounded

So I got Mike a new phone for our anniversary. It got here yesterday so he gave Jercie the old one. First thing he told her was "Do Not call 911." He told her at least twice. Well we were in our room talking and Jercie comes down the hall bawling. Mom I called someone on accident. So I get on the phone and tell her that Jercie had accidentally called. She was like well this is the 3rd time we've gotten a call from this number. So I apologized, explained the situation and apologized again. Jercie was freaked out to say the least. I don't know if other phones work the same way, but if there isn't a sim card in the phone you can still make emergency calls if you push the call button twice. Nobody explained this to Jercie so she didn't understand how she was calling 911. Anyway a little while later Jercie comes in crying again the cops are here. So I answered the door, explained everything to the officer and made Jercie apologize for making him come all the way out to our house for nothing. Mike and I sat her down for a nice talk about choices and consequences. We also told her that she has until Wednesday to prove to us that she deserves Christmas. If she messes up again we're calling Santa and letting him know. She is also grounded to her room. She can read books but can't play with her toys. I know I'm a mean mom, but I have to teach her somehow and nothing else we've tried has worked. Hopefully this will sink in!

In other news, Blaze went looking for Easter Eggs (don't ask because I have no idea) and checked the closet in my bedroom where all of Christmas is stashed. I went looking for him and found him coming out of my room. I asked what he was doing and he told me. I asked where he looked and he told me. I.about.killed.him! I told him he better run. After the red had cleared and I was calm I went in to talk to him. I asked what he saw. Thank goodness he just saw the Operation game we were giving to the kids. I had to apologize and give him a big hug. I felt really bad for yelling.

9 things I love about you

Mike and I have been married for 9 years, together for 9 years 49 days. It's a good thing we've known each other forever. We were talking the other night reminiscing about some of the dumb fights we've gotten into. It wasn't a very long conversation because there were only 2 that really stood out. They both make me laugh now. One was over laundry. We had to use a laundry mat when we first got married and we were dirt poor. We were out of quarters and Mike was ticked that there wasn't any clean laundry. The only thing I really remember about the fight is me standing at the top of the stairs of the apartment complex saying, "Yeah well screw you too!" I have to laugh at how silly we were. The other fight I don't remember but Mike does. I wasn't a very good cook when we first got married. We ate out a lot and Mike cooked most of our meals for the first year. He got home from work one day and I asked what was for dinner. He said I'm having grilled cheese. I asked where mine was and he said the stuff is right here waiting for you to make it. He was so mad at me and wouldn't cook for me after that. Needless to say I was forced into learning how to cook and I have been doing it dang near every night since then. Like I said they were silly, dumb fights. Thankfully we haven't had any huge knock down drag out fights and I hope we never do.

Here are 9 things I love about Mike:
1. Your sense of humor. You make me laugh every single day.
2. Your loyalty. No matter how cranky I am or how mean I get you always stay.
3. Your work ethic. I know that sounds lame, but you are one of the hardest working people I know. And even though it drives me crazy sometimes it's one of you best qualities.
4. Your big heart. Don't worry I won't tell anybody. ;)
5. The way you always speak your mind.
6. The way you play with the kids. One of my favorite things to do is watch you play and listen to the laughter always accompanies it.
7. Your silly songs that you make up on the fly. They crack me up.
8. That you are always there to listen when I've had a bad day.
9. The way to look at me.

Even though he probably won't ever read this I want him to know how much I love him and appreciate him.

Christmas Spirit

So I was reading my daily blogs the other day when I came across this post on a digi-scrapper's blog. Super sad story right? Well later that day I was telling my mom about it and she said, "You know who's son that is right? It's a Stock kid." Holy crap! The Stocks are a couple in our ward. I LOVE them. Especially Cheryl. She was my first visiting teacher after I moved back. She works at the former Albertson's and I see her there all the time and talk to her.

There is a Wells Fargo account set up for the family. He left behind a wife and 3 small children ages 4 years to10 months. Here is the story in the Arizona Republic if you would like to read it. If you can, please donate to this family. Every little bit counts. Thanks so much!

The Entertainer

So tonight was the ward Christmas party. Since Mike and I are on the activity committee we we figured we better go. It was the first year we have ever been to one. It was pretty fun. They had roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad and rolls. It was so good. After dinner there was a little program. The primary got to sing some songs so Jercie and Blaze went up on stage. Jercie is fairly shy in front of large crowds so she kept her head down and sang very quietly. Blaze on the other hand was cracking us up. They started off with Once there was a Snowman and during the intro he yelled, "I don't even know this song!" But then sang every word. Then they got to sit at the edge of the stage and Blaze yelled again, "I know how to get down from here!" During the song he was waving at people he didn't even know until he spotted us and we got the 2 handed wave and a thumbs up. Then in between songs he says "Hey can I get down from here now?" After the last song they jumped off the stage and Jercie came right back to the table to sit down. Where do you think Blaze was? Trying to climb back onto the stage. I had to go get him. He is quite the little entertainer. He is constantly making me laugh and I caught a few other people laughing too.

My Boring Life...

So I figure I need to update this. I don't really have a whole lot to update on however. Jercie and Blaze have both had a small case of the coughs and sniffles and now Kaia is coming down with it too. I knew she was getting sick when she actually let ME snuggle her. She usually doesn't like to be held or rocked by me especially. But last night she woke up at about 9:30 and we sat on the couch and snuggled until she fell asleep. I miss those days. Hopefully she gets feeling better soon.

Jercie missed school Monday and Tuesday and Blaze just missed Tuesday. On Monday night Mike reset the breaker in our bedroom so I had to reset my alarm clock. Me being the retard that I am didn't set the a.m/p.m right on the alarm. Needless to say Tuesday morning my alarm didn't go off. I woke up at 8:15 thinking man it feels like I should be awake already. I looked over at the clock and jumped out of bed and went running to get the kids ready for school. I got them all ready, yelled a few times and we were headed out the door when I heard coughing from both of them. I made an executive decision and let them stay home.

Christmas is just around the corner and despite my best intentions I'm still not ready. I will be next week though, I hope. Next year I'm starting earlier. I'm a terrible procrastinator and I plan on fixing that. I am going to do my 12 days of Christmas on the ARK again this year. In case you are wondering what in the devil I'm talking about, ARK stands for Acts of Random Kindness. I do it for my kids for the first 11 days and then on Christmas Eve we will do something for a family in need or one of the neighbors. It's fun and the kids seem to like it. I'm still in need of some ideas so if you have any let me know.

This has been one boring post! Hopefully I will have a better one next time, maybe with some pictures??

Property Of Mike Jorgensen

Well, I obviously made it out of surgery alive. We had to be at the surgery center in St. George at 7:30 Wednesday morning. That means we left here at 5:15. That's super early. I hate mornings. We got there and checked in. They took me to the back to get me changed into a gown and put in my IV. The nurse was super nice and actually listened when I told her I have a ton of valves in my veins. She numbed my hand before she placed the IV. It only took her one try, it usually takes them at least 2 sticks to get it. Once the IV was in they went and got Mike to sit with me. He came in and eased my nerves with laughter. He wrote Property of Mike Jorgensen on my upper thigh. I guess he wanted them to know where I belong. They gave me a bunch of anti nausea medicine and then the anesthetic. I vaguely remember being wheeled into the OR and being strapped to the table but that's it until I woke up. There wasn't much pain but I was super nauseous. Apparently they didn't give me enough of the anti nausea meds. I felt well enough to walk to the truck and we were back on the road by 11:00 and home by 1:30. I slept most of the way home. I was still pretty nauseous. Worst feeling ever if you ask me.
There hasn't been a whole lot of pain. My shoulders and incision sites hurt the most. My shoulders hurt from the gas they used to move all my internal organs up and out of the way. They are starting to feel much better now and I have folded and put away all the laundry Mike has done the last couple days. He's been so good to get things taken care of around here. He even vacuumed the laundry room and our bedroom. I couldn't have asked for a better husband.

A bit of a change.

Every year I wait until the last minute to get Christmas done. I decided that last year was going to be the end of that. I started thinking about Christmas gifts in July this year. I already have some completed and sent off to the recipients. I only have a few more things to do to finish up extended family gifts. I know what the kids are getting I just have to buy them and Mike already got his present. I found an old school Nintendo and a bunch of games. I tried to surprise him with it, but he's friends with the guy I bought it from. Steve can't keep a secret and neither can I.

I also just ordered my Christmas cards. Every year I tell myself I am going to send out Christmas cards and just never get around to it. If I don't have your address and you would like one of my beautiful cards shoot me an e-mail with the address and I will do my best to get you one. I don't make promises though.

Mike finally brought his metal stamps home so I can get my giveaway necklaces done. I will have them in the mail next week. Thank you all again for entering. I might be doing more giveaways. I'm working on some fun new crafts and if they are easy enough I will give some away. Check back to see...

Jercie's Birthday Post...

Is below this one. For some reason or another it's not linking to other blogs.

Lucky Number 7

Where does the time go? Seriously. I have been sitting here looking through pictures of Jercie to make her slideshow. I can't believe how quickly the last 7 years have flown by. It seems, though, that some years flew a little faster than others, if you know what I mean. Jercie has always been a very loving little girl. She needs a lot of love and a lot of attention. If she doesn't get it she lets you know in her own little way. She is also ready and willing to give all of her love and attention to anyone that might need it. She is hilarious. She makes me laugh all the time. She will do almost anything to get a laugh too. Her jokes make absolutely no sense, but make you laugh anyway. Ask her to tell you a joke sometime, I dare you. She is independent too. She likes to do things on her own even if it means making mistakes. She is a little smarty pants too. She is doing really well in school and requires little to no help in reading. She is also extremely sensitive. Her feelings get hurt pretty easily. I think it goes back to her  being so loving and needing so much love. She gives everything she has to any relationship she has and so her heart is easily broken. I love that about her. Who am I kidding? I love everything about her. Even the things that drive me crazy, because without that she wouldn't be Jercie.

Last night on the way to dance class this was our conversation.
Jercie: Mom we don't get to listen to rock and roll at my school.
Me: Well what kind of music do you listen to?
Jercie: Kid music and some really lame lame music.
Me: Lame music? What's lame music?
Jercie: I don't know it's from the 80's or something.
So then I made her listen to 80's music the rest of the way to dance and all the way home.
I had to throw that in so I wouldn't forget it!

Surgery

Since my card reader isn't working I can't post any pictures so I will just have to tell you what's been going on. Kaia has this thing for horses. She calls them neigh neighs. We got her a stuffed horse at the St. Jude's benefit my parents do in May. Ever since then she has been obsessed. Mike got her a stick horse at the dollar store the other day and it has been everywhere with her. I had completely forgotten about the horse Grandma Annette and Papa Gary got Jercie for Christmas one year. Until the other day. I dug it out of my closet and gave it to Kaia. She rode it for like an hour nonstop. She loves it. She is also talking a lot more. She is attached to Daddy anytime he is home.
We got our flu shots on Friday. Well everybody but Mike, he doesn't believe in them. The kids also got their H1N1 shots. On Friday night Blaze started getting a fever. He had one until this morning and now he's coughing. I am still hoping it's just from the shot. I guess if he's not better by tomorrow I will take him in.
Jercie's birthday is coming up next Wednesday. We got her a new bike. Mike couldn't wait to give it to her so she's already ridden it up and down the sidewalk and gotten a flat tire. Gotta love puncture weeds. My nephew Alexander is having surgery on her birthday at Primary Children's so we are going to take all the kids to the zoo on Tuesday. It will be good to see everybody.
I went to the doctor yesterday and scheduled a minor surgery for the 25th. Yes, that is the day before Thanksgiving. It was the best time for us to do it though with Mike's schedule. And they only do surgeries on Wednesday. I will be having an endometrial ablation. I am a little scared and a little sad about it. This means that any chance of me ever having a baby again is lost. I'm okay with it really, but it's sad all the same. As long as it fixes the problem. My only other option is a hysterectomy and I absolutely don't want to do that!
Mike has mostly just been working. If he's not at the mine he's doing one side job or another. It will be nice since Christmas is coming soon. In fact he has to go rough one of the guys up today that he did a job for. He was supposed to get paid a week ago and we haven't heard from them. Hopefully they pay soon.
So there is the update on us.

The Haunting...

Halloween has finally come and gone. I have been hearing about and planning Halloween costumes for what seems like forever. I made Jercie and Kaia's costumes and bought Blaze's. He wanted to be Robin from Teen Titans. I ordered the costume on the 24th. I figured that was plenty of time  to get it here. I wasn't sure if the preschool was going to do a Halloween party or not, but was secretly hoping they wouldn't. Well, on Tuesday I got a note telling me to send Blaze in his costume to school on Wednesday. WHAT?!?! One day notice? Are you kidding me? Robin still wasn't here so I asked my mom to go and find something for Blaze to wear. She found a Duke costume. Duke is a G.I. Joe for those of you who have been hiding under a rock. He was pretty stoked about it. I asked if he still wanted to be Robin and he said no. Fast forward to yesterday morning when the Robin costume finally showed up. That's right, it didn't get here until Halloween morning. Now Blaze wants to be Robin. I decided that I wasn't going to spend over $50 for Blaze's costumes, so Robin is going back. Needless to say, Blaze was ticked. He cried and told me I was mean. I finally had had enough. I told him that he had 2 choices, he could cry and not go trick or treating or he could suck it up and dress up as G.I. Joe and get some candy. He chose the latter. Thank goodness. Here he is all dressed up and looking AWESOME!!

Jercie got to dress up twice as well. She was a vampire fairy. She was just going to be a vampire, then she was inspired and decided to add the fairy into it. It's pretty original and it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I made the tutu and just added little bits and pieces of other things to it. I was so proud of her hair, and she cried when she saw it. I told her that if she was going to throw a fit I wasn't going to do anything for Halloween next year. She finally got over it and let me paint her face and add some sweet teeth marks to her neck.

And then there was Kaia. Last year I saw this idea, but had already bought her Marie costume so I filed it away for this year. I made her tutu, added leaves to her halo and wings, and put some cocoa powder on her knees and elbows (though you can't see that part). Can you guess what she was?

She was a fallen angel. I also dusted her face with cocoa powder, but you can't see that either. She got into the candy as soon as we got down to the trunk or treat so her face was plenty dirty by the time we left.

We had fun, but I sure am glad it's over.

Genius?

So I had parent teacher conferences today. I went to Blaze's first. I was expecting the worst. At home he's pretty laid back, very talkative, and pays very little attention to anything I have to say. Apparently at school he is the exact opposite. He listens very well, he's a little talkative, and he bosses Braydon around. They do a "pre-test" like a week after school starts to see where they are. He scored an 11 out of a possible 23. Mrs. Batty said that's the low end of where he would need to be for Kindergarten. That's a good thing by the way. :) He's one of only 4 in the district preschool that can point to words that rhyme and one of very few that can turn a book right side up and point to the title. So genius?

Possibly.

I then went over to Jercie's. They take a test at the end of September to see where they are. She is above average in her reading and math (which is all they test them on). Her teacher says she is very well behaved and the only time she really has trouble with her is when it's time to transition to a new activity and Jercie isn't finished with what she is working on. She likes to do her best work all the time, so it takes her longer than the other kids to complete it. She doesn't like to leave anything unfinished. Her teacher also said that she is ready for some of the things that the second graders are doing so she would like to start giving her some second grade math to work on so that she will be challenged and not get bored. I think this is a wonderful idea and can't wait to see how well she does with it. So another genius?

Maybe...

Are you a winner?

You are all winners for entering my giveaway! Thank you for your comments. Especially the ones that complimented me. There were some questions about where and who did the pictures. We had them done in our yard. My friend Brittanua Clark took the pictures. She lives in Enoch, down by Cedar City. If you want her to do your pictures her photography blog is on my sidebar. Now on to the winners. I decided to do 2 winners. I used random.org to get a winner so it was done fairly...

#1 Kimi who said:
I love the Family pic's, did you do them yourself?? I want a neckless, with Love, please =)

#8 Amy who said:
I do love the family pictures. You have an amazing family. And I haven't posted earlier because I was gone all last week with limited access to a computer (as in my hubby had it most of the time). So even if I don't win the necklace, I appreciate that you commented on my blog and I enjoyed seeing pictures of your family.

But in case I do win, I like Hope!

If you girls could e-mail me your address and if there are any specific colors you will want,  I will get these to you.  tonia_n_mike@yahoo.com

On a different note, Jercie sadly didn't win Red Day at school. She only lost by 2 red things. They only counted one of her 4 hair bows, and didn't count her nails. I still think she should have won, but what's a mother to do? She was pretty sad that she didn't win, but we had cookies and milk when she got home and that made things better. It's amazing what a little cookies and milk will do for a broken heart.

Red

So this week was red ribbon week at the elementary school. Today they were told to wear as much red as they could. The kid who had on the most red would win a prize. Jercie really wants to win, so I went and bought her a red shirt, some red ribbon for her hair and made her a necklace. I also spray painted her hair red, and painted her fingernails red. I wanted to paint her face, but didn't have any red make up.  Here she is all decked out in RED. I think she looks cute with red hair.

There is still time to enter my giveaway. You have until Saturday at midnight. The winner will be announced Sunday afternoon.

Family Pictures and a Giveaway!

I told Mike I wanted a picture that looked like he really liked me. This is what I got.

I got my picture disc in the mail today. I look a little frumpy in some of them, and Kaia isn't smiling in any of them. We did get some of Mike actually smiling. YAY!!

This is my favorite of the family

Love this one too

Daddy and his best buddy

How cute is that?

Me and Mike

Me and Blaze goofing off

Mike and his little buddy

Daddy and his girls

Me and the kids

Mommy and the girls

Mike and the kids

Now for the giveaway. Due to the fact that nobody comments on my blog anymore, (except Ang) I'm giving away a handmade necklace that is similar to these.

All you have to do is leave a comment telling me how cute my family is, and whether you want faith, hope, love or nothing stamped on the necklace. I will leave the giveaway open until Saturday the 24 of October! Good luck!!

Look what I made...

I have been doing my own backgrounds and for some reason or another they aren't fitting on screen. I don't know why, but I'm too lazy to go figure it out.

I decided last year that I didn't want to buy Halloween costumes any more. I am making Jercie and Kaia's. Blaze wants to be Robin from Teen Titans and I refuse to use my sewing machine for longer than 10 minutes. Jercie is being a vampire fairy. I don't know why she can't choose one or the other, but oh well at least she is original. I don't want to tell what Kaia is being because I'm kind of weird like that. I will post pics after Halloween and she is all dressed up. It will make more sense that way I think. So anyway, I made a couple tutus for the girl's costumes. All I have to get for Jercie is a black leotard and some wings. We already have fangs from last year's uber original vampire witch. She's a strange girl.

Kaia's tutu

Jercie's tutu. I might redo it with black elastic

I took Jercie to the doctor today because the cough that she started getting Sunday morning turned "barky" . She has a mild flu, but because she is at risk for asthma or worse he gave her an antibiotic. He said she can go back to school tomorrow, she just has to wash her hands a lot and cover her mouth when she coughs. She doesn't really cough that much during the day, it's at its worst at night. I think I have a harder time sleeping through it than she does.

We got our family pictures done last week. They are cute. I will post some when I get the disc in the next day or two. I'm retarded because I completely forgot to get individuals done of the kids so I am going to Cedar City in a couple weeks to get them. I am hoping Kaia will be in a better mood. She wouldn't smile in any of the pictures without Mike. Hopefully she will be more cooperative without Mike there.

Sticky Traps and Puppy Tails Do NOT Mix

She wasn't very happy about having her picture taken
(doesn't she look like Falcor from Neverending Story?)
We have a small mouse problem this year. We had them for the first couple years we lived here. I blame that on the disgusting state the house was in when we bought it and moved in. We haven't had a problem for a year or two. Last night I was sitting on the couch and heard some noises behind the other couch. That's usually where Kola hangs out. I looked behind me and there was Kola, so it wasn't her back there. The kids were sitting quietly watching T.V. so it wasn't them either. Crap, it's a mouse. So I went over to the Joseph Kmart (mom and dad's) and got a couple mouse traps. I have never set an old school mouse trap before so my dad had to teach me. He did a good job because I didn't snap my finger once. I got the peanut butter on it and set it up and put it under the couch. I put a second one under the stove. I woke up this morning and my peanut butter was gone off both traps but the traps hadn't been sprung. Crap, smart mice. I think I will have Mike pick up some sticky traps.

Which brings me to why sticky traps and puppy tails don't mix. When I was pregnant with Kaia we had some sticky traps set up in our room. One was under Mike's night stand and the other under my glider rocker. Well Kola came in one morning and sat by the glider and started thumping her tail. Her tail went thump right into the trap. Well, Jercie found it before we did and cut her tail off. Right up to the fleshy part of it. If she would have been about a quarter of an inch down we would have had major blood loss.

Since we're talking about Kola, she is dumb. Seriously. Today I pulled 4 cockle burrs from her face. Her face isn't that big. How the heck did she get 4 of those suckers in there? The other day I pulled 6 or 7 from her tail. I don't know where she is getting them, but I wish she would stop going there. Hopefully next summer we will finish the block wall and get something along the bottom of the gate so she has to stay in the yard.

Some More...

random stuff. Since my last post of random pictures I have been trying to get more of Jercie and Blaze. I know I don't take as many pictures of them. They don't change as much as Kaia. That's my excuse anyway. Jercie is growing like crazy though. I bought her 4 new pairs of pants at the beginning of the school year and only one pair fits her. She has these ridiculously long legs. We were playing my new Wii game and it said that she is underweight. What's sad is the kid eats her weight in food daily. I don't know where she puts it. She must have her dad's metabolism.

I think Blaze would hang out in his pajamas all day every day if I would allow it. I would if Mike wouldn't give us crap about it. I love to wear my pajamas so I can't get after Blaze too much about it. He would also sit on the couch and watch cartoons and play his DS all day if I let him. I have to force the kid to play outside. I did get his birth certificate in the mail so he is good to go at preschool.

Kaia is Kaia. She cracks me up everyday. She sat next to me on the couch today and colored while I watched General Conference. She did that for a good 15-20 minutes. Then she laid on the floor and colored for another 10. She loves to talk and yell at us. She also loves to dance. If she hears music her little hips start swaying. Even if she is sitting on the couch or my lap. She definitely knows what she wants and how to get it. She is just a little spoiled. I don't know how that could have happened.

Mike and I went to the town meeting on Thursday because there was some vandalism over at the park and Mike was going to volunteer to help them repair the block wall that was torn down. They decided to just clean it up and get rid of the wall altogether. BUT apparently there is a rampant tire problem here in town. The citizens of Joseph are being tormented by tires. Here is some photographic evidence...

Look at it just standing there... I'm totally kidding, but you would think, by the way the townspeople were talking, that we have a major tire problem here. LOL

Mike also finished laying all the sod. You might notice some of it in the background of some of my pictures. It looks so good. I am pretty sure I have the best husband ever. :)

Well here are some pictures that I took over the last few days...
