Busy Busy Busy!!!

So a lot has been going on around here the last couple days. Today was the first day since Thursday that I've had a chance to just relax.
Kaia turned 2 on Saturday. I know I can't believe it either. I swear she is growing up faster than Jercie and Blaze. Well, Mike was supposed to work so we celebrated Thursday. She went for a ride in the truck with daddy and played in the hose. Aunt Ang made her a super sweet watermelon dress just for her birthday.

Aunt Cathy made her an awesome watermelon cupcake cake...

Which she made us bless. She sat with her arms folded saying pray until we said a prayer.

She opened lots of presents...

After she saw what was in each gift she said Oh Cute! The bike was her favorite. She rode it most of the night. If one of the other kids touched it she would freak out! She's just a little spoiled. I can't imagine.

On Friday night I had the Relay for Life. Mike decided to call in to work so he could keep the kids while I was gone. His parents came by and had dinner with us and hung out. I don't know how long they stayed because I had to leave right after dinner so I could be at the track. Our team was set up next to a team that was doing hamburgers and hot dogs for dinner so we all brought different side dishes to sell. It turned out great. I also made some hair bows and bracelets and Andrea made some key fobs and Ang made some crayon rolls for me to sell at the event. I was able to sell $25 worth of stuff to go to the cause. I will be doing an auction on Not So Crafty for the things that didn't sell. All the proceeds will go towards my relay goal. If you are interested in buying something check it out next week. If you simply want to donate cash go here. It really was an amazing experience. Even if I don't join a team next year I will definitely be making an appearance.
Saturday was Kaia's actual birthday. Mike and I were lying in bed and he decided he was going to call in again so we could all go on a wheeler ride. I am so glad he did. It was seriously one of the best days ever! We called Grammy and Papa Clint and asked them if they wanted to pack a picnic and go with us. Of course they did. While we were getting gas to head up the mountain we ran into our friend Trever. He offered to let us borrow his Rhino. So we loaded it up and off we went. Mike and Kaia and I rode in the Rhino while Jercie and Blaze rode my parents' wheelers with them. My dad was the leader as always, and took us for a nice little ride.
And he picked the girls (my mom, Jercie, Kaia and myself) some really pretty flowers.

We found some shade and had a nice picnic. Jercie and Blaze then climbed into the Rhino with us. All 3 of them had a nice little rest on the way back to the truck...

We skipped church today and did our best to clean up the neglected house. After Kaia had a nap we went down to Grammy and Papa's and swam in their pool. I think it might be in the top 5 best weekends ever! Seriously :)

Have you ever cut potatoes with a plastic fork?

We went on the first camping trip of the season on Wednesday. We just stayed over night and came home Thursday morning. It was really fun! I was kind of surprised at how much fun it actually was. I used to not be a big fan of roughing it. I am now. We just had our tent and a fire.
Wednesday night we had after playing on a fallen tree and wading in the creek we had some dutch oven chicken and potatoes. Mike forgot to tell me what I needed to bring for him to cook. I brought all the stuff for my breakfast so I just figured he would get the stuff he needed for dinner. I was wrong. We had all the food we needed but we didn't have any of the utensils. Like a knife to cut the potatoes with. I did bring some plastic knifes and so that is what I used to cut up the potatoes. It sucked! By the fourth potato I was done. Luckily that was enough to feed us. I had a small blister on my finger that was barely worth mentioning. I also forgot the spatula to turn the chicken so Mike used the whisk I was planning on using for breakfast. Oh well, none of that really matters because dinner was freaking fantastic! We roaster marshmallows after dinner and then rode the wheelers until the sun set.
Once the kids were in bed Mike and I stayed up playing a bubble popping game on his phone. It sounds pretty lame but we had fun!
We got up the next morning and I made orange muffins.  We made these at girls camp when I was in Young Women's . They turned out so good. They even looked pretty!
We then took the kids on another wheeler ride. We went through the creek and Jercie fell in. She was haulin' some major a$$ and was getting wet. She turned and went right into the drink. She cried and we laughed. She was fine just a little wet. Mike and I got stuck twice in the creek. Kaia was on with us. She was ticked when she and I had to get off while Mike got us out. All she wanted to do was ride the wheelers.

After our ride we packed up camp and came home. It really was fun and I can't wait to do it again.

Graduate!

My little boy is now officially out of preschool! He "graduated" on the 24th of May. He made me laugh the whole way through. One minute he looked like he wasn't very happy to be there and the next he was very animated while singing the songs. I realized how much like his dad he really is during one song. They had to get up and dance and do actions to the songs. He did it but wasn't very happy about it. Just like Mike would be. Every once in a while he would catch me laughing and stop singing. I would have to compose myself before he would start up again.
Sorry my pics aren't very good. I was using my mom's and didn't know how to work it.

I am actually ahead of the game this time around. I got all the Kindergarten paperwork turned in and now I just have to wait for the letter telling me when to take him for his testing. I am still  in shock about him going into Elementary. He's still too little isn't he?
