Wrestling, FDR, and other fun February stuff

At the end of January the kids were sent home a paper about Bantam Wrestling. Blaze wanted to sign up so I let him. They had practice every Tuesday night from 5:30-6:30. His 2 besties signed up too and they had a ball. Mike took him every week and helped coach him and Bryler and Braydon. The tournament was on the 19th. Mike was down on the mat any time one of his wrestlers was up.
Getting a pep talk from Dad
As I watched these little boys I noticed that there are a lot of cry babies in wrestling. Thank goodness Blaze wasn't one of them. He did his best and when he lost he held his head high and shook his opponent's hand and the kid's dad's hand too. I was very proud. He won one match and lost 2.
This is the kid he beat
He got 3rd place. His friends both got second. We might do another tournament in March. I've left the decision up to Mike and Blaze.
 With his 3rd place medal
For President's Day Jercie had to do an oral report on Franklin Delano Roosevelt. She got to dress up as him as well. The note I got said to not put too much effort into the costume so I didn't. We borrowed an old suit coat from my dad and a pair of old glasses that were my Grandma's. As far as I know she did a good job. I think she made a pretty cute FDR.
I got a new camera too. I'm so excited about it. I have been using my cell phone to take pictures for months! occasionally I would borrow my mom's but I didn't know how to use it so the pics always turned out blurry. I got this little baby now
I'm still learning how to use it, but it beats my cell phone that's for sure. Look at this cute little girl I got a picture of with it

In other news, we should be getting new carpet in the living room and back hallway this week. I'm so excited. No more pulling slivers out of little feet! We are also painting the living room because Mike hates the green and has put up with it for 2 years. Personally I love the green and think it should stay. However I'm not the only person living here, so neutral tones here we come. I am going to paint the bathroom orange and there's nothing Mike or anybody else can do about it.
