So remember a couple posts back I said Jercie had to get some teeth fixed but was afraid to get the shots. Well, we tried the new dentist and she was still terrified. We even gave her valium but it did nothing to calm her fears. We decided our best bet was to have her put under general anesthesia and get it all done at once. The only problem with that is she is 7. Most insurance companies won't cover it unless they are under 5 I think. So the dentist wrote a letter of medical necessity since she is absolutely terrified of the dentist. The insurance company gave approval to have it done at the hospital and they will cover 90% of the procedure.
We will go tomorrow for her physical with Dr. Crimin and then Tuesday she goes to the hospital to get her teeth all done. Since she is the oldest in the group of kids going she has to wait until noon to get in there. That means she has to go at least 12 hours without food or water. Hopefully it won't be too bad and she won't freak when they have to do the IV for the anesthetic. Wish us luck. We will need it!
