A visit with Santa

Last night was the annual town Christmas party. The kids all sat on Santa's lap and told them what they wanted.

Christmas Tree Lane

Kaia had her very first ever dance recital at Christmas Tree Lane on December 7th. I was worried that she would be nervous and wouldn't go on stage. Turns out I had no reason to worry. She was so excited to dance on the stage sissy danced on. She was the best little dancer up there too. She knew the whole dance and didn't have to look at any of her friends. When I get the chance I will post the video. Until then here is a super cute pic of her before we left.

Kaia quotes for the day

Mike and Kaia are playing Mike Tyson's Punch Out on the old school Nintendo. Kaia's controller isn't plugged in and she thinks she is fighting Mike and winning. Here are a few things she's said...
"I just punched the shit outta you."
"what the hell? I'm magic?!?"
"I told you you would lose!"
"You beat me? You totally beat me!"
Yes my sweet little 3 year old has a potty mouth. But we love her anyway.

The Haps

It's been awhile since our last meeting. I figured it's time to do a quick update. I have no pictures since my desktop crapped out on me and I'm not allowed to download pics to the laptop.
Since the last post Jercie started 3rd grade and Blaze started 1st. So far they are loving it. We had parent teacher conferences and as usual we got good reports. I'm guessing they get their genius from their dad because I'm really not that smart. He's brilliant though, he was smart enough to marry me! Mike made a deal with Jercie that if she passed off her timed math facts he would get her an iPod touch. So far she's passed addition subtraction and multiplication. She just has her division to do.
I turned 31 in September. I can't even remember what we did. Oh that's right I went to church and then we just hung out the rest of the day. I took the kids in my nursery class some cupcakes for snack. It turns out that that was my last day in nursery as well. I also started writing a young adult novel. I've only got a chapter or 2 done. I'm hoping that by putting this out there I will be held accountable for finishing it. So ask me about it other wise it will sit unfinished for years. Mike and I went to Vegas in October for the 48 hours festival. There were a bunch of really amazing bands. We had a blast. We were watching Korn when a crowd surfer came crashing down on my head. Mike punched the guy and let him fall. Another guy there asked why he punched him Mike said, "He made my wife cry." The other guy told him he would take care of it and then let the crowd surfer fall again. Since then my neck has been jacked up. I've been going to the chiropractor for it. I'm still deciding if I like it. For the record I wasn't crying because I was hurt and I wasn't really crying it was just the shock of being hit out of nowhere. I'm not a pansy!
Kaia is probably one of the funniest kids I know. She says and does the most random things. She has impeccable timing too. She is so much like her dad it's scary. She started dance in September with my old dance studio. She has so much fun while she's there but getting her there is an adventure. She gets to have her very first recital at Christmas Tree Lane in December. I'm so excited. I got to see her costume, it's adorable! I can't wait to see her in it.
Jercie turned 9 today! Can you believe it? It just doesn't seem like 9 years ago. She was so tiny. She invited 2 of her friends over. We had pizza and went to the high school's play Cinderella. I was impressed with how well they did considering how crazy they were in the truck on the way over.
Blaze is just as awesome and laid back as always. It makes me laugh just how chill he is. You never really know what's going on with him. Whenever I ask he just tells me he doesn't want to talk about it. Even if it's just hey B how was your day. He could have had the best day ever and he would tell me he doesn't want to talk about it. What a goofy sucker. He didn't want to go see Cinderella so he got to hang out it Papa Clint. They played the wii and had an awesome snack. He wouldn't tell me what it was. Go figure.
Since I got rid of my Facebook page I will probably be blogging more. Lucky you!

So far in August...

Here's what we've done so far:

We went camping at Piute and played in the water

 Rode the 4-wheelers

Blaze tested out his new (to him) dirt bike

Jercie's flip flop floated out to sea and Mike had to go out in the boat to get it

Yesterday we said goodbye to Kola. My friend and I were going for a walk and Kola joined us. She was running along and playing just like usual. She went over by the canal and a minute or two later Anna asked what she was doing. I looked back and Kola was laying in the road. I called her but she didn't move so I ran back to where she was. I picked her up and moved her out of the road. She was completely limp. Her little heart was still beating but she wasn't breathing. I called Mike and he came and got her. By the time he got home she was gone. He wrapped her in a towel and buried her in the back yard with Nooch. We aren't sure what happened. We think she had a stroke or a seizure. I do know that she will be missed!

Went camping with Grandma Annette and Papa Gary

Panned for gold and played in the creek
Saw what the fire destroyed last year

Shot guns with Daddy
This cute little girl turned 3!

July:

 Celebrated the 4th of July

We celebrated the 24th of July.
July was kind of boring!
