Blaze

I think I might have the funniest little boy. He is constantly making me laugh. I told him this morning that he could run through the sprinklers before Jercie got home from school. Mike turned the sprinkler on and I told Blaze to go ahead and run in. He turned to me and said, "I have to get my swimming costume on first Mom." So in he goes to get his swimming costume on. Keep in mind that his trunks are only a 2T because he usually refuses to go in the pool or water of any kind, bath tub being the one exception. He comes to the sliding glass door and strikes a pose. We were both standing in the driveway and I said I'll run in if you do. He again turns to me and says, " We have to wait until the ghost is clear. Okay the ghost is clear let's go." So I go running with him. I hit the grass and stopped and he kept going only to turn back before he got wet. I said "okay lets go" We took off after the sprinkler. Before it headed back our way, I picked Blaze up and put him right in the flow of water and took off running before it got me wet. He came and stood next to me with his arms folded across his chest. "Why did you let me get all wet?"

Singing.

So last night Jercie got sent to her room for getting behind the stand between the couches, after I had told her not to. She kept asking if she could come out. I was really annoyed because my day started out with Blaze tearing the blinds off the wall. Then in the afternoon the kids were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I was cranky to say the least. I finally said to myself, " Self, get over it, laugh." I told Jercie she could come out of her room only if she sang everything she said for the rest of the night. I proceded to sing everything I said to her. She was NOT going to sing. She cried and screamed and yelled, while I sang my little heart out. I laughed until I cried, and sang until my voice hurt. Finally, after about a half hour of my singing and Jercie's screaming, I could hear a small, faint, singing coming from Jercie's room. She was singing a primary song. I let her out. She didn't have to sing everything she said, but Mike and I did all through dinner. She finally laughed, but begrudgingly. I don't know how that child is going to survive this family if she can't take a good teasing. :)

Where my Peeps at?

I hope everybody is having a wonderful Easter. We started our traditions last night with some Easter egg coloring. Jercie made a really cool purple one by dunking it in the pink and blue colors. They had lots of fun and got covered in dye.




We got up this morning and the Easter Bunny left the kids new church clothes.

He told me last night that he didn't have time to leave the baskets, but he would come back and hide them while we were at church. We went to sacrament meeting and came home. We were going to wait until Mike got home to find our baskets, but he had to work later than expected. The kids got to go on a scavenger hunt to find their baskets.










Kaia wasn't really into Easter this year, but next year will be fun :). We are going up to my mom's for dinner and that will probably conclude the festivities for this year.

She's Back!!

As you can see from the picture Kaia is finally feeling better! She is actually laughing now! She blows kisses then giggles. Hopefully we can get the 2 pounds she lost put back on soon. I knew she was really sick, but I don't think I knew just how sick until she started feeling better. I really have missed those mile wide smiles! :)

Paranoia...

I am probably the most paranoid mom out there. Especially with Kaia. I think part of it stems from being told that I was going to miscarry right after we found out I was pregnant. The whole pregnancy I worried I wasn't going to bring her home from the hospital. It has gotten better, but I still worry a lot. Kaia has been sick with some nasty stomach virus since early Thursday morning. She has lost almost 2 pounds from all the puking and pooping that has been going on. On Saturday, she was looking really bad. Her eyes were sunken in and had black circles under them, she was really pale, and just not looking good at all. We decided to take her to the emergency room. They told us that she was okay, and probably at the tail end of whatever it was she had. Just keep her hydrated. We did the best we could. Everything we gave her came right back at us. Last night Mike decided to call our awesome neighbor, Larry Gay, to come give her a blessing. He came right over with Spencer and they gave her a blessing. She went right to sleep and slept really good until about 7:00 this morning. She still wasn't tolerating fluids at all. Now Mike is the one that told me to take her to the ER. If Mike is worried it's bad. I hurried and got dressed and took her in. The nurse took her vitals and went and talked to the doctor. He immediately ordered some blood tests and an IV. They had to have a urine sample. In order to get this they had to do a catheter. She was not happy about that. All the blood work came back normal. They put in the IV to get her rehydrated. She wasn't dehydrated too bad, but it was still hard to get the IV in. We were there for about 2 and 1/2 hours. Her color is coming back, her eyes aren't quite as sunken in, and the dark circles have lightened a little. She is actually moving around and making noises and smiling now. I think she is finally on the mend. Here are some pictures of her that I took while she's been sick.

Wacky, Tacky, Outageously, Wild and Fun!!!

On Monday Jercie was sent home with a note to make a Wacky Tacky Outrageously Funny Hat for the parade on Thursday. I don't know about any of you, but I need a little more time to be creative. Luckily, my mom doesn't. I called upon her creative prowess and here is what we came up with.

Cupcakes for Dinner????

I have always wanted to play a good April Fools day joke, and this was my year. I some how managed to keep the kids out of the kitchen while I made dinner. When I called them to come and eat, I told them we were having cupcakes for dinner.
Jercie was a little suspicious when she picked it up, but she ate it anyway.

Blaze didn't care he was stoked to be getting cupcakes for dinner.

Kaia just had a good time eating the blue "frosting".


The cupcakes were actually meatloaf, with blue mashed potatoes on the top. Once Jercie realized she wasn't eating a cupcake she said, "Mom, you April fooled me!"
